April 6-8, 2018: Spring Alpaca Spectacular 2018. Located at the Eastern States Exposition Center in Springfield, MA. Here we go again!! We keep on growing, expanding & innovating. The 2018 event will feature 3 shows again; NAAS, the Expo & the Bay State Small Breeder Blast (BSSBB)! The Blast will be for breeders that have under 20 AOA registered females and will take place over the 2 days of April 7th & 8th. As in 2017, The BSSBB will be joined by everyone's favorites, NAAS beginning it's 18th year and the 8th year of the Expo. All 3 shows happening under 1 roof in 1 weekend! The shows will be run by Alpaca Show Management Services which is a blending of show coordinator veterans Kevin O'Leary and Scott Young who together have run over 63 Alpaca Shows across the country. In 2018 check in day is Friday, April 6th. As you can tell by the change in check in day, there will be some differences with this year's format. Because shows have been shrinking in size over the last year we have been concerned with the idea of filling 3 show days, so we made the decision to bring the show back down to 2 days and use the successful format we have been using in our double show format in the midwest for the last 2 years. So this year NAAS & Expo will run in 2 rings with 2 judges. Amanda VandenBosch will judge NAAS and Jude Anderson will judge the Expo. NAAS will start with female alpacas on day 1 and the Expo will judge all males. On day 2 they will judge opposite genders. That's it just a normal 2 ring, 2 judge, 2 day show, easy! As for the BSSBB we will have a 3rd show ring for that show and we will judge all alpacas on day 1 and Walking Fleece on day 2. Small breeders have it made, you can elect to participate in the Blast and leave at the conclusion or you can stay for NAAS and/or the Expo as well. For more information visit www.naalpacashow.com/NAAS/.
